Westmoreland County has another coronavirus-related death, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

There are also 14 new covid-19 cases in the county, which marks a seven-day low for new cases.

Totals for deaths and cases are now 56 and 2,260, respectively.

In the county, there are currently nine covid-19 patients hospitalized, with one on a ventilator.

Thus far in September, Westmoreland County has had six covid-19 deaths reported after back-to-back days with a new death Monday and Tuesday. Consecutive days with new deaths were also reported Sept. 21 and Sept. 22.

The first death of the month was reported Sept. 17. For comparison, three deaths were reported in August and seven deaths were reported in July.

Tuesday’s 14 reported new cases are the smallest amount since 12 were reported on Sept. 22.
