Westmoreland County sets records for 3 covid-19 statistics

Westmoreland County set highs for three covid-19 statistics Tuesday.

Seven-day total cases (1,465) and seven-day total deaths (36) are both records. The seven-day average of new daily cases (209) is also a record.

There were 240 new covid-19 cases and five new deaths reported Tuesday in Westmoreland County, according to the state Department of Health. Of the new cases, 162 of 240 are confirmed.

In the county, there are 82 covid-19 patients hospitalized, with 12 in the adult ICU and eight on ventilators.

Before November began, there were 4,472 covid-19 cases and 103 deaths in Westmoreland County on Oct. 31. As of Tuesday, total cases and total deaths now stand at 7,886 and 172, respectively.
