Art
• The Greensburg Art Center will present a free exhibit “The 2025 Biennial” through May 5 at the center, 230 Todd School Road, Hempfield. The juried entries include art in all mediums and examples of pottery and other three-dimensional art. Public welcome. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
• River Art Works will offer a weekend art retreat June 6 to 8 at Antiochian Village Conference Center, 140 Church Camp Trail, Fairfield. The instructor will be Gil Gorski. Details: tinyurl.com/y4f8jc5j.
Fundraisers
• A spaghetti dinner will be held 4 to 8 p.m. March 29 at St. John’s Harrold Reformed United Church of Christ, 103 St. John Church Road, Hempfield. Menu: spaghetti, salad, roll, drink and dessert. Cost: $10; 4 to 12, $5; 3 and younger, free. Dine in or takeout. Sponsored by Sons of Union Veterans Civil War Camp 276.
• Youngwood Lions will sponsor a pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. March 29 at Christ Church of Youngwood, 100 Lincoln St. Dine in or takeout. Cost: $8; 6 to 12, $4.
• Westmoreland Walks – Taking Steps Against Breast Cancer will host its annual Passionately Pink fashion show at the event center at Westmoreland County Community College, 145 Pavilion Lane, Hempfield. Doors open at 11 a.m., lunch will be at noon and the show will start at 12:45 p.m. Cost: $50. Tickets: 724-441-4130 or tinyurl.com/ypedjfcj.
• Latrobe Center for Active Adults has unclaimed baskets from the March 8 raffle. Green tickets with the numbers 151490 and 151860 had no names on them. Baskets not claimed and picked up by April 8 will become property of the center. Details: 724-539-0237.
History
• The Westmoreland Historical Society’s annual Remember When program will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. April 6 at the Venue Live at Westmoreland Mall, 5260 Route 30, Hempfield. The topic will be, “Remember When We Shopped at Greengate Mall.” The event will include a sit-down luncheon, a multimedia presentation and displays. Cost: $48. Meetings
• Mt. Pleasant American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6 p.m. April 1 at the post, 752 W. Main St. Dinner will be ordered from the kitchen.
• The Board of Trustees at Torrance State Hospital will have an open meeting at 1:30 p.m. March 27 in the CEO conference room, first floor, Greizman Building, Route 1014, Derry Township. Details: 724-459-4411.
