Church News

• Greensburg Church of the Brethren hosts a night of fun and fellowship for individuals and groups with developmental disabilities from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays at the church, 554 Stanton St., Southwest Greensburg. Fundraisers

• Delmont Historical Preservation Society will sponsor a barn quilt painting class for beginners from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 29 at Delmont Public Library, 75 School St. Cost: $35, due the day of the class, includes materials, refreshments and instructions to complete and take home a 12 x 12-inch wooden barn quilt. Health

• A seminar about senior citizen bullying will be at 9 a.m. March 25 at Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Greater Pittsburgh, 890 Weatherwood Lane, Hempfield. Sponsored by the RNC, Pennsylvania Link to Aging and Disability Resources and Wesley Family Services, there will be an opportunity for networking and sharing of resources. Light refreshments will be served at 8:30 a.m. Reservations required: suzy.chertik@wfspa.org.

• Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at Union Presbyterian Church, 656 Route 380, Washington Township.

History

• The Greensburg/Indiana St. Brendan division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians will host a program about the historic meaning of the term “Irish Catholic” at 7 p.m. March 11 at the Sisters of Charity Caritas Christi residence, 129 DePaul Center Road, Greensburg. Details: 724-832-0482.

Meeting

• South Hills Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. March 11 at the Bethel Park Municipal Building, 5100 W. Library Ave. There will be a 50-50 raffle and prizes for children. Senior Citizen News

• Irwin Senior Activity Center, 310 Oak St., will have western bingo at 12:15 p.m. March 11. A western hoedown line dance and lunch will be March 12. Sign up with what dish you will bring to share. The movie, “The Shakiest Gun in the West,” with Don Knotts will be screened at 1 p.m. A St. Patrick’s Day craft workshop will be at 11:30 a.m. March 13. Registration for events and lunch required at least one day in advance. Donations are accepted for all activities. Details: 724-787-1760.

Veterans News

• In observation of Vietnam War Veterans Day, Norwin Elks will host a free lunch for all veterans March 29 at the at the Elks Lodge, 135 Elks Lane. Space is limited. Reservations required by March 19. Reservations: 724-392-4555, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Leave a message with your name and telephone number. Your call will be returned no later than the next business day.
