Woman found shot in car in Homewood

A woman found shot in a car in Homewood was in critical but stable condition late Sunday afternoon, according to a Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman.

Police were alerted just after 4:15 p.m. to the shooting.

They found the woman in a car on Brushton Avenue near Frankstown Avenue, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

The woman, who is in her early 20s, was found sitting inside the parked vehicle with a gunshot wound to her side, according to police.

She was transported to a local hospital. There were no witnesses known to police as of late Sunday afternoon.

Pittsburgh Police’s Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
