Blood drives
• American Red Cross will host these blood drives:
— 1:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Community United Methodist Church, Route 130, Irwin
— Noon-5:30 p.m. Oct. 23, St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 W. Main St., Ligonier

Classes/programs
• Tours of the Family Additions Maternity Center is planned 2 p.m. Sunday in Excela Westmoreland Hospital, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. Details: 877-771-1234
• WCCC is partnering with APPRISE, the Pennsylvania Health Insurance Assistance Program, to sponsor a free Medicare presentation about the basics of the system. Sessions planned:
— 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 22, Westmoreland County Community College, 130 Depot St., Latrobe
— 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Oct. 24, Norwin Public Library, 100 Caruthers Lane, North Huntingdon

Screenings
• Excela Health will offer a Wellness Check diagnostic screening in partnership with Mt. Pleasant Rotary, 6:30- 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Excela Square at Frick, 508 S. Church St., Mt. Pleasant. Cost: $55 for standard package. Appointments preferred and may be scheduled from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. through Friday at 877-771-1234 or excelahealth.org/Wellness Checks
Support groups
• Pittsburgh Area Neuropathy support group will meet 6 p.m. Wednesday at Brush Creek Lutheran Church, 177 Brush Creek Road, Irwin.
• Blackburn Center Against Domestic & Sexual Violence has a support group for victims of intimate partner violence that meets on a weekly basis. If you are a victim of domestic violence and would like to learn more about this support group or about in-person counseling and advocacy services, please call the 24-Hour Hotline: 724-836-1122 or 1-888-832-2272 for more information. All services are free
• Al Anon meeting at 7 p.m. every Monday at 936 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant.
• Information on Narcotics Anonymous, a 12-step drug addiction recovery program modeled after Alcoholics Anonymous, is available at 888-251-2426.
• An open support group, a unique and informal opportunity for self help, sharing and caring by and for people with mental health concerns, is held 7- 9 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at Mental Health America of Southwestern PA, 409 Coulter Ave., Suite 4, Greensburg.
