It’s a bold prediction. One only a Pennsylvania governor could dream up.

Right there in his Sweet 16 round, Gov. Josh Shapiro has Pitt meeting Penn State in this year’s NCAA Tournament.

The governor shared his bracket Wednesday on social media.

“It’s the best three weeks in basketball, Pennsylvania,” Shapiro wrote along with displaying his “Keystone Sweet 16 match-up.”

The Panthers had one of the First Four games and got past Mississippi State 60-59. As a No. 11 seed, they will face Iowa State on Friday in the first round.

The Nittany Lions — fresh off their strong showing in the Big Ten Tournament — were slotted as a No. 10 seed. They will face off against No. 7 Texas A&M on Thursday.

You gotta love Shapiro’s sense of hope.

Then again, he wasn’t the only one with that dream matchup.
