A New York man apparently frustrated over the cancellation of an Airbnb contract broke into a Pocono area home and flooded it, police said.

Daniel Peter Celban, 33, of Middle Island is charged with felony burglary, felony criminal trespass, felony criminal mischief, misdemeanor defiant trespass and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

Court records show he additionally is charged in a separate incident the day prior with misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure, obstruction of administration of law, open lewdness and related offenses.

Pocono Mountain Regional police responded to the home in the 6000 block of Boardwalk Drive in Coolbaugh Township at 10 a.m. Saturday for a reported burglary in progress. Officers were already familiar with Celban, who was found on the property, police said.

Celban was arrested early Friday evening for open lewdness and was asked to leave the same property, Pocono Mountain Regional Police Chief Chris Wagner said. Celban’s Airbnb contract was canceled at the time of that incident, the chief said.

Celban then returned to the home and broke a window to gain entry inside, authorities said. After several orders by investigators and a K-9 unit, Celban finally vacated the home, police said.

Celban “destroyed” the home by running water and flooding it, according to police.

Celban was arraigned Saturday before District Judge Kristina Anzini, who set bail at $10,000. In lieu of bail, Celban was taken to the Monroe County jail, where he remained Tuesday. Court records did not immediately list attorney information for Celban.
