Wexford man charged after bringing gun to Pittsburgh airport

Transportation Security Administration officials at Pittsburgh International Airport confiscated a loaded handgun from a Wexford man on Monday morning.
The .380 caliber handgun, which was loaded was six bullets, was the seventh gun detected this year at the airport’s security checkpoints.
Allegheny County police cited the man on a weapons charge, according to TSA officials.
“Part of being a responsible gun owner,” said Karen Keys-Turner, TSA’s Federal Security Director for the airport, “is knowing where your firearm is at all times and knowing not to bring one to a TSA security checkpoint.”
People who bring weapons to a checkpoint face civil penalties of up to $13,900 from the TSA.
