The FBI said in a tweet Friday that a “Bad Wig Bandit” has robbed at least three banks in the Charlotte area.

The suspect is a man between 20 and 30 years old. He allegedly has robbed the banks over the course of the past four weeks — wearing a different wig in each instance, FBI agents said.

The first robbery happened Dec. 13 at BB&T Bank, where the man, disguised as a woman, handed the teller a note and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

On Wednesday, the Bad Wig Bandit allegedly robbed a New Horizons bank wearing a red wig, before heading across town five hours later and holding up a Wells Fargo while wearing a curly black wig.
