Sometimes, looks are everything.
That’s certainly true in the case of a ride at an amusement park in Germany.
The “Eagle Fly” was added this season to the ranks of rides at Tatzmania, a park in Löffingen. It’s a spinning attraction, where riders hop into cars attached to one of two massive arms. The cars, four on each arm, rise up and spin around.
While the views on the ride itself might have been wonderful, the view from down below was less appealing. When in full motion, the spinning cars looked unmistakably like swastikas.

Video of the ride in motion was shared on Reddit, igniting a host of angry responses.
Park owner Rüdiger Braun told German radio broadcaster SWR he acknowledges the issue.
He said he wants to “apologize to anyone who feels disturbed or offended by our design.”
Braun said the ride has been taken offline and won’t be restarted until the visual similarities to the Nazi symbol are gone.
SWR reports the ride’s manufacturer said “the heads of the ride” will be “taken back and revised.”
Postwar criminal code in Germany and Austria makes it illegal to publicly display the swastika.
