An English teacher in Fort Worth, Texas, who thought she was directly messaging President Trump on Twitter about removing undocumented students from her district has been fired.

Self-proclaimed whistle-blower Georgia Clark, who has been with the district since 1998, thought she was being discreet with direct messages to the president, but actually was sending out tweets, according to The Washington Post.

“Mr. President, Fort Worth Independent School District is loaded with illegal students from Mexico,” Clark wrote from the now-deleted Twitter account, @Rebecca1939, on May 17. “Anything you can do to remove the illegals from Fort Worth would greatly be appreciated,” she wrote in another tweet.

The Post reported that Clark admitted to sending the tweets.

A copy of the Fort Worth Independent School District review of Clark’s case obtained by the post revealed that “Ms. Clark stated she did not realize the tweets were public.”

Her ignorance proved costly.

Tuesday night, board members decided to terminate Clark.

The district’s review also noted a history of violations involving insults to students’ ethnicity from Clark:

• Last month, Clark asked a student who requested to use the bathroom to “show me your papers saying you are legal.” Clark denied the claim, but the district said it was corroborated by another student.

• One student who reported her behavior to the district said she separated the students in her class by race with “the Mexicans on one side and the white and black people on another side,” according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

• In 2013, she was disciplined for calling a group of students “little Mexico” and referring to another as “white bread.” Investigations by the district confirmed this incident.
