Letter to the editor: A vote for Trump is a vote for our safety

Your vote for president on Nov. 5 might well have an immediate affect on the future of our planet. Many military and international experts are deeply concerned about the danger that World War III is already festering and spreading in Ukraine, the Middle East and Taiwan, fighting that the USA would be drawn into.

We need to elect the leader who is best able to minimize such a frightening likelihood. Four years of President Trump gave us a strong deterrent-oriented military, no new wars, the Middle East Peace Plan, viable sanctions against Iran, dialogue with China and North Korea, a structured withdrawal from Afghanistan and the destruction of ISIS.

Four years of Biden-Harris gave us a major war in Ukraine, a humiliating retreat in Afghanistan, China threatening Taiwan, Iran within weeks of producing a nuclear weapon, terrorists attacking the Middle East, millions of unvetted immigrants invading our country and record inflation.

Another significant concern is that the Democratic Party has installed the two most extreme left-wing socialistic candidates in our history. And we know that socialism taken too far can ruin a country, as it did in Cuba and Venezuela, or worse, lead to communism, as in China, Russia and North Korea.

While abortion, party loyalty or the perceived character of Kamala Harris or Trump might be clouding your choice, remember the “facts” you get from constant political ads and some of the mainstream media are rampant with propaganda and outright lies; you will have to fact-check the fact-checkers.
