Letter to the editor: Democrats, find the loopholes

I love Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show.” He is not only outrageously funny, he is brilliant.
President Trump and the Republican Party are saying a big “whatever” to what used to be taking pride in their jobs and believing the Constitution was more than a piece of paper. Currently, they serve one man, and it doesn’t matter what he wants to do with this country; they will follow in lockstep, forsaking integrity and what is good for our country.
Back to Jon Stewart. He notes how Democrats believe in the system and the sacredness of the office they proudly hold, knowing they swore an oath to the Constitution. He points out how the Republicans love their loopholes and, if they can’t find one, they’ll just make one up. No big deal.
So what is Stewart’s advice to Democrats? Find the loophole! Create a loophole, for God’s sake! Act like a Republican!
It reminds me of when I was a kid. My Mom would say, “If they jump off a cliff, are you going to jump off a cliff?” I lost my Mom in 2023, but I hear her voice loud and clear: Jump off that cliff!
