Letter to the editor: Do religious folks see themselves in Trump?

Recently I received a letter from an alleged group of church ladies from Monroeville. While cowering behind guarded anonymity and the church, they stated that they had never encountered so many wicked accusations and hateful, mean references as in my letter “There’s still time to replace Trump” (Aug. 24, TribLive) and that I had lost my soul. Note: They did not say that I was incorrect about what I said (I was correct) or that they would pray for my soul. Were they trying to bully or intimidate me?
Jesus came full of grace and truth (John 1:14). Donald Trump came full of lies and BS. Sadly, a lot of alleged Christians have decided to blindly believe and defend whatever he says. The true righteous hate what is false (Proverbs 13:5). Scripture repeatedly declares, “You shall not give false testimony.” The Lord hates a lying tongue and a person who stirs up conflict. To me, that perfectly describes Trump and JD Vance.
So my questions to the “religious folks” are: Did you delight in his name calling? Laugh at his vulgarities? Object at all to any of it or just cheer? Do you see yourself reflected in him?
Trump with great enthusiasm called people the following: Dumbo, Coco Chow, slime ball, monster, nasty, broken old crow, fat Jerry, Miss Piggy, dummy, low IQ, Psycho Joe, dopes, moon-face, horse face, bimbo, pig, etc., etc.
Trumpist hypocrisy is just there all the time, in your face, and proudly on display. Religious voters should be aiming higher than this.
