Letter to the editor: Down the Nazi road

To me, President Trump’s “Day One” inauguration gave America its first proof of Trump/Elon Musk taking America down the Nazi road emulating Hitler. Trump did not place his hand on the Bible while taking the oath. So much for his Judeo-Christianity and allegiance to ruling with God’s blessing or guidance.
Trump pardoned the Jan. 6 violent insurrectionists who acted on his behalf, just as Hitler’s followers took violent measures to install him in power. Trump rescinding birthright citizenship is an act that, if made retroactive dating back to the 14th Amendment, would rescind the citizenship of millions of slave and immigrant descendants, including Trump and you.
Last but not least, we have Musk twice thrusting up what I believe was the Nazi salute. Musk is a native of racist apartheid South Africa. Trump, like Hitler, seems to believe he has the right to take over any country he wants in manifest destiny gone wild.
America may well prosper initially under Trump, as did Germany under Hitler. But eventually Hitler got millions of Germans and others killed. Trump could do the same. Trump supporters have mocked the study of history, especially America’s racist history. If you have not read up on Hitler’s or America’s racist history, not only toward Black people but toward many new immigrants, you better do it now. That includes the book “Project 1619.” Then you can compare it to what we have already begun to witness from Trump/Musk Day One and what is to come.
