Standing ovations! Thunderous applause! Sold-out performances! The audience moved to tears! All indications of a magnificent performance!

Congratulations to the students, teachers and staff of Freeport Area High School on an extraordinary performance of “Les Misérables.” The vocals were clear, strong and compelling. Young people gave Broadway-worthy performances, bringing life to complex characters. Ensemble performances were captivating, well blended and incredibly strong. The set told the expansive story in a creative way, enhancing the flow of the story. The costumes depicted class standing and added color and life. The orchestra provided a rich soundtrack.

It was clearly a work of love from everyone. Most importantly, at a young age, these students will experience the story’s messages: There is good and evil in us, life is full of difficult choices, a life guided by prayer will be well led, forgiveness is life-changing, and “to love another person is to touch the face of God.”

Bravo and thank you, students and staff, for your dedication, work and magnificent performances!
