Letter to the editor: Gilpin leadership

I believe the recent reorganization of the Gilpin Township Board of Supervisors was not a decision based on qualifications or leadership ability but rather personal bias and private conversations held outside of public meetings. I was not reelected as chairman, a position I’ve held for six years while serving on the board for seven, despite my proven record of leadership and knowledge of municipal operations and the Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code.
For the past six years, I have led with integrity, ensuring responsible decision-making, financial stability and legal compliance while prioritizing the best interests of the entire township. In my opinion, the majority’s decision was clearly driven by personal agendas, not performance or results.
Regardless of this outcome, I remain committed to serving with the same integrity and accountability I have always demonstrated. I will continue to be a voice for all residents, hold leadership accountable and fight against decisions made for personal gain rather than community progress.
The people of Gilpin Township deserve transparency, fairness and leadership that puts the community first. I encourage all residents to stay informed and demand the honest, effective governance they deserve.
