Letter to the editor: How will Trump disgrace us tomorrow?

There have been so many instances within his period of political life in which Donald Trump has reached a new low. It would be impossible to cite them all, but two recent disgraces stand out.
The annual gala New York City dinner honoring Al Smith, the first Catholic nominated to be president, is a light- hearted affair with those who speak mindful of the purpose of the event, to raise money for a venerable faith organization, Catholic Charities. This year, it was anything but light-hearted. Trump turned the dinner into a hateful event in which he smeared those with whom he disagrees, injecting profanity for good measure. Sadly, New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan sat through the filth in what appeared to be good spirits, seemingly untroubled by the X-rated diatribe. He has not said anything since the event to indicate that Trump’s words were inappropriate for such a gathering.
At his rally in Latrobe, Trump spent a significant amount of time discussing the late Arnold Palmer’s anatomy. The Palmer family had to be furious and humiliated, but the crowd at the rally at which children were present lapped it up, showing no sign that the comments were off-color.
How will the former president seek to debase our society tomorrow?
