Letter to the editor: Jamie Lingg represents integrity

The practice of political committees endorsing candidates during primary elections is a dangerous distortion of democracy. But the most troubling element is the use of proxy voting, a backdoor tactic that strips transparency from the process and concentrates power in the hands of a few.

In theory, endorsements should reflect the collective voice of informed committee members. In reality, proxy voting allows a handful of insiders to control the outcome without accountability. These endorsements are not earned — they are orchestrated.

To make matters worse, this manipulation is followed by a flood of slate cards and propaganda literature, designed to sway voters before they’ve had a chance to hear from all the candidates. These materials aren’t about informing the public; they’re about controlling the narrative, pushing a pre-selected candidate as though the decision has already been made.

This is not how democracy works. Primaries exist to give voters the power to choose, not to rubber-stamp the choice of political insiders.

The people of Murrysville deserve a fair, open election process where every candidate has a voice and every vote matters. That’s why I proudly support Jamie Lingg for Murrysville Council. Lingg is a fiscal watchdog, a defender of property rights and a servant of the people — not the political Murrysville machine. She represents transparency, integrity and true grassroots leadership.

Let’s send a clear message: We don’t want manipulated elections — we want honest representation.

Vote for Jamie Lingg. Let the people decide.
