On Jan. 6, 2025, patriotic Americans will gather to demand that Vice President Kamala Harris “do the right thing” by upholding the Constitution. Former President Trump once called on his “base” to “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard, and I urge every American to do the same, standing firm for the rule of law.

With felony convictions bringing the 14th Amendment into focus, we should be clear that someone convicted of 34 felonies cannot hold public office. The Constitution’s 14th Amendment exists to prevent criminals from doing exactly that. As Harris presides over Senate proceedings, let her hear a clear, united message from the people, insisting that our leaders follow the laws and Constitution that safeguard our democracy.

Join together peacefully in Washington, D.C., to “fight like hell” for our Constitution and urge Harris to fulfill her duty, ensuring that only those eligible by law can take office to protect the integrity of our democracy. As Trump once said, we must “make our voices heard” and “demand that our leaders do what’s right for America.”

Or …

We can be people who respect our nation’s laws and not riot and assault police like the Trump supporters did in 2021.

I choose the latter.
