The letter “Why I’ll never vote for a Democrat” (Oct. 25, TribLive) calls out writers who utilize personal insults over facts. He neglected to note that name-calling goes both ways and is the No. 1 method by which our president chooses to communicate.

The author goes on to provide not one fact, but lots of opinions, as to why he won’t vote for a Democrat. Here are some real facts about murders in 2025, taken from TheGlobalStatistics.com.

The most murders in the country have occurred in Mississippi (No. 1), Louisiana (No. 2), Alabama (No. 3) and Washington, D.C. (No. 4).

Eighty-four percent of white victims are killed by other white people and most Black people are killed by other Black people.

Only 15 murders this year were committed by illegal immigrants.

The writer states, without support, that Democrats are the root of all evils in this country. Written with bias and malice, not fact. The fact is that there are outstanding Democrats in this country who want to serve the nation to the best of their ability. I also believe there are Republicans who wish to do the same. Vile retribution will be their reward.

No name-calling, just facts.
