Letter to the editor: Negative Moineau headline disappointing

The headline “Greensburg bishop calls Irwin pastor’s actions ‘an egregious’ failure” (Oct. 7, TribLive), rather than a positive announcement of the return of a pious and dedicated priest, became a personal flashpoint of disappointment and sadness.

I feel that instead of using the highly negative headline, it could, no, should, have been a positive announcement that a beloved priest, like the prodigal son, returns and is greeted with love, lesson learned and respect.

There is a reason that the bishop returned Father John Moineau to his priestly duties. It is his hard work and his love of God, the Blessed Mother, the Church and those he serves.

Father John helped me deal with my cancer and liver transplant, and he deserves to be welcomed back to his duties for all he has done for his parishioners over so many years.

His hometown and parishes are having a favorite son return and will be forever blessed by such a holy man and priest. For that, I thank the bishop for this reassignment.
