Letter to the editor: Reschenthaler doesn't represent us
I am a small business owner for over 30 years, a past business consultant and resident of Westmoreland County since 1976. As an independent voter, I expect the people I vote for to put country above party as well as represent our district with common sense and the ability to compromise. Congressman Guy Reschenthaler is not one of those representatives. I have contacted his office a few times in the past couple years, most recently about how tariffs are negatively affecting my small business.
I have come to the conclusion Reschenthaler is arrogant and misguided. The evidence is clear that, with a voter registration of Republicans at 51.9%, he is confident he does not have to represent an independent voter and business owner. It was obvious to me the last response about tariffs was not even read, since it came back as a response on Social Security and Medicare. The other responses mostly brushed off my concerns about policies that negatively affect retirement savings, middle class and concerns on the methods DOGE is using.
In my opinion, Reschenthaler is selective in who he represents and only cares about reelection, not what is right for our country.
