Letter to the editor: Riverview president shows poor leadership

I am embarrassed by Riverview School Board member and board President Jennifer Chaparro’s derogatory social media post (“Riverview School Board member faces backlash after political post, a trend in local politics,” Nov. 15, TribLive). Her conduct is unbecoming of a school board member. Her post eschews hatred and poor leadership.

The school board manages a $26 million budget of taxpayers’ funds, to accomplish the most important task of educating our youth. I have been a 45-year resident of Oakmont and served two terms on the school board. My children and grandchildren are RHS alums and students. I have been blessed with many positive experiences from the school system. This is not one of them.

Her public conduct hurts me, is shameful, and is a loss of ethics and trust. It taints the school system, Oakmont and Verona.
