What can be said of those who claim to love America but then vote for a man who refused to call off his hoodlum supporters on Jan. 6, 2021, when they attacked our nation’s Capitol in an attempt to thwart the transfer of power?
What can be said of those flag-wavers and saluters who were silent when it was used as a weapon against police or was hung upside down by the wife of a U.S. Supreme Court justice?
What can be said of those who know that their chosen candidate for president boasted of sexually assaulting females and is an adjudicated sex offender? Or who brushed these assaults off as just boys being boys?
What can be said about people of faith who are at ease with a serial adulterer as their leader? Do his name-calling, coarse talk and uncounted lies align with their religious beliefs?
What can be said of those who pretend to believe in press freedom but are unmoved when the media are referred to as the “enemy of the people”? Or when a physically challenged reporter is mocked?
And what of military veterans who have no problem voting for a draft dodger who was said to have referred to those who fought and died for our country as “suckers” and “losers”?
There is but one word that comes to mind: SHAME.
