Letter to the editor: Sign pollution

Tribune-Review

Stay in your own lane and the hell out of the “wrong ways.” This applies to many things in today’s life and for everyone’s life and death situations, literally, figuratively and exponentially. Yes, wrong-way traffic deaths are on the increase and wrong-way campaigns, elections and decisions are always too present. Don’t believe me? Just look on Facebook.

First things first. Thousands of plastic or polycarbonate campaign signs will start appearing along our roadways and highways. These signs will say “absolutely nothing.” They will be distracting to drivers and they will cover up our beautiful nature scenes, which are being destroyed by most political candidates in the first place.

These worthless bits of signage, which fail to adorn our natural environments, are only pictures of the political candidates. Though the picture sizes may flatter their egos, they really don’t say anything about the size of their hearts or their party donors, thank goodness.

Finally, “you are what you do and not what you say you’ll do,” according to Carl Jung, father of behavioral psychology. So, please save your money on the “paid-by” signs and help to save our lives with more traffic safety on our highways, byways and wrong ways to Hell.

Vote for the GOAT with the fewest lies and signs.
