Letter to the editor: Socialism real threat to democracy

Sad but true, the Democratic Party of our fathers and grandfathers officially died over 20 years ago. In my opinion, once they realized that they could never win a national election, the members of the Socialist Party of America/USA infiltrated the Democratic Party and now completely control it. In the interest of full disclosure, they should now officially change the name to the SoDem Party.
Just as the Roman Empire was never conquered by an external enemy, but instead collapsed from within due to moral decay, the SoDem Party seems to seek to have the USA meet the same fate by working within the system. What I see as a lack of a moral compass (e.g., abortion, gay marriage, legalized drugs), hatred of their country (e.g., cancel culture, disrespecting the flag, unsecure borders), encouraging criminal behavior (e.g., catch and release, no bail, defunding police), combined with extremely high taxes and spending, are putting this country in grave danger of collapsing from within and being taken over by a foreign power not burdened by the above deficiencies.
Wake up America, we are running out of time. Socialism is the real threat to democracy.
