Letter to the editor: Support policies that protect gas and oil industry

In my work producing bio-research instrumentation, I’ve seen how vital innovation is to our country’s progress. After moving from Maryland to Pennsylvania, I’ve come to appreciate even more the role the natural gas and oil industry plays in driving that innovation.
This industry isn’t just about powering our homes — it’s about fueling the technological advancements that keep America leading on the global stage. Our national security and economic stability are deeply tied to the strength of the natural gas and oil industry. By harnessing our domestic resources, we reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources, ensuring that America remains resilient and self-sufficient.
However, the industry is under attack by those who push for policies that could severely limit its potential. We can’t afford to let that happen. I strongly encourage everyone to support policies that protect and strengthen the natural gas and oil industry. Our future, and the future of American innovation, depends on it.
