Letter to the editor: Tim Carson should remain as coroner

Tribune-Review

I had the honor to serve alongside Tim Carson while serving as chief of staff for Westmoreland County Commissioner Doug Chew. Because of my position, I had a frequent exposure to the work he and his department did for the county. From a professional evaluation, I can assure you Carson’s group was among the best in the county. The ability to solve problems and execute in a manner that best served the county was evident on a daily basis.

From a personal level, I saw firsthand how compassionate Carson was in his interactions with the community, even in the most challenging circumstances. His ability to communicate while maintaining the highest level of decorum was obvious. As a retired naval officer, I was overwhelmed by the attention to detail he and his staff paid to honoring the large number of unclaimed veterans’ remains. These remains had sat unclaimed for a long period of time before his watch. I consider it one of the greatest honors of my life to play a role in giving them their final rest.

I still love Westmoreland County, and I believe Tim Carson is the best choice to remain as coroner.
