Letter to the editor: Trump, a weapon of mass distraction

Businessman Donald Trump has always been the king of WMD, weapon of mass distraction. The saying goes something like this: No matter how important your conversation is, if someone throws a dead fish on the table, you are going to talk about the fish!
Previously he sued just about everyone who disagreed with him. That distracted people from the issue. Then WMD mastered the technique eight years ago when he started with the China trade deal. He would say that we have a deal with China and the market would go up. Two weeks later he would say that we do not have a trade deal and the market would go down. He did it over and over. I wonder how much “his associates” made by knowing that information.
Now he is doing a similar thing with tariffs. Canada and Mexico tariffs, market tanks. Remove tariffs, market back up. Meanwhile, with that knowledge, I’m sure his associates have made millions.
However, I think there is a larger issue. I think WMD is trying to distract us while Elon Musk robs us blind. Musk now has access to all of our personal information thanks to the DOGE and his access to the Treasury payment system.
I dreamed last night that Musk told Siri to stop Social Security checks for people who were not registered in his chosen political party. Do you think that is far-fetched, considering I can ask Siri to turn on my alarms, start and drive my car, etc.?
