Letter to the editor: Trump is getting results

Despite his occasional off-putting communication style, President Donald Trump’s actions are proving the adults are now in the federal government room. He has almost totally secured the southern and northern borders against the flow of illegal immigrants and deadly fentanyl, a complete reversal of what people saw on TV as President Biden, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and Vice President Kamala Harris lied to the public about the border’s security, creating high costs and crime for cities across the country.
He has surrounded himself with experienced and active Cabinet members and is courageously trying to reduce the burdensome cost of government that has slowed economic growth and grown unchecked over numerous presidencies.
By authorizing department closings and large layoffs, Trump risks alienating many groups and people who likely voted for him, yet he has the courage to do what is needed, despite the political fallout.
Trump will make mistakes. They all do, but so far out of the first-quarter gate, it is encouraging to see that we have a president and Cabinet who have the vision and willingness to make results, not political gain, as the beacon that drives policy making and better performance and rebuilds the United States’ reputation as the world’s greatest nation.
