Letter to the editor: Trump’s behavior un-American

Donald Trump is, of course, wholly unqualified to be president. I find him to be demonstrably and unquestioningly stupid, corrupt, intellectually and physically lazy, incompetent and lacking even a modicum of executive ability by any standard. A completely unserious person. Had he not been born of privilege, I can only imagine what his life’s work would entail.

Those qualities in and of themselves should cause any serious voter to reject his candidacy. However, it is his un-American behavior that is at the core of my rejection. Fomenting distrust in our elections and actively undermining their result, rejecting the peaceful transition of power, encouraging violence and threatening to use the power of the federal government to punish opponents (of which I count myself one) is an irredeemable sin.

I don’t agree with Kamala Harris on everything, but I am happy to pay more for groceries to avoid the radicalized upheaval that Trump promises. Any true patriot would do likewise.
