Letter to the editor: What has happened to us?

So many questions, so few answers!

Why does ICE continue to go after innocent people?

Why are we fighting each other at the highest levels of government?

What is in the Epstein files?

Why have we built an invisible wall between the left and right?

How can a religious person follow a person as awful as our current president?

What has he done but make a lot of money just for himself?

Where do you fit into all of this?

Are you better off since he took office?

Why have we forgotten who we are?

We always stood up for each other.

We fought wars against oppression and dictatorship.

We always agreed to disagree.

We tried not to hate because of religion or race and gender, or homosexuals, or transgender.

We are all humans, all of us!

We have faults, oh yes we do, but are we really trying to overcome these faults in our governing ourselves?

Where is our benevolence?

Do we still believe that we are trying our best to be tolerant, despite the current malevolent influence in our government at the highest level?

Are we really still following the most important words ever spoken — “Love thy neighbor as thyself?”

Christmas is just around the corner. Do not forget what this holiday is all about!
