Letter to the editor: Will Vance be our president sooner rather than later?

The smokescreen around Donald Trump’s medical records brings up an interesting scenario. It is possible that a lot of this material will finally see the light of day if Trump is elected. I predict it will be leaked, probably by JD Vance or his supporters, at some point after they take office, particularly the reality of Trump’s cognitive abilities. This will allow Vance, as vice president, to invoke the 25th Amendment to have Trump removed from office, eulogized with much hand wringing and crocodile tears.
I’m sure Vance will have little trouble convincing the cabinet or Congress that Trump can’t carry out his duties. In my opinion, his recent public appearances dramatize his deterioration. The GOP will be relieved to have someone with the same anti-constitutional agenda but who is not crumbling away on TV every day. Vance has shown voracious ambition and a glib willingness to turn truth on its head. There is no reason to believe he wouldn’t turn on the man who brought him this far.
That lack of ethics and loyalty is apparently par for the course in today’s Republican Party. Vance is probably measuring for curtains in the Oval Office already.
