4 Robert Morris players earn postseason Big South-OVC honors
Four Robert Morris football players earned end-of-season honors from the Big South-OVC Football Association, the league announced Tuesday.
Cornerback Jermarian Jackson took home Co-Defensive Freshman of the Year, and receiver Noah Robinson and tight end Chaese Jackson were named first-team all-conference.
Offensive lineman Luke Beltavski earned a place on the all-academic team.
Jackson, in his second season with the Colonials, posted 40 tackles, 33 solo, to go with five pass breakups, a forced fumble and 1 1/2 tackles for loss.
He shared his honor with Tennessee State defensive lineman Eriq George.
Robinson’s 70 receptions led the Big South-OVC and set conference and RMU records. He also led the league with 859 receiving yards and caught six touchdown passes.
Chaese Jackson caught 33 passes for 291 yards, with his five touchdowns ranking fifth in the conference.
Robert Morris finished with a 4-7 record (2-4 Big South-OVC) in 2023, the first year of play following the football merger between the Big South and Ohio Valley conferences.
The Colonials placed seventh out of 10 teams in the league and improved from a winless 0-11 campaign in 2022.
