It was a full-y fulfilling day for the Pittsburgh Steelers in regards to the handful of players they have working their way back from injury.
Six contributors who missed at least one game of action all practiced fully Wednesday, according to the injury report. That is an encouraging sign the Steelers will have a healthy roster for their first game coming off their bye, Sunday at the Los Angeles Rams.
Wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hamstring) and backup running back Anthony McFarland (knee) went through a full practice two days after being activated for practice while on the injured reserve list.
Each has said he expected to be added to the active roster in time to play against the Rams. Also previously expressing he would play Sunday was tight end Pat Freiermuth and left tackle Dan Moore Jr. Freiermuth and Moore missed the Oct. 8 win against the Baltimore Ravens because of hamstring and knee injuries, respectively.
It is expected Moore will re-gain his starting gig after first-round pick Broderick Jones started in his stead against Baltimore.
After missing the past two games because of a groin ailment, starting right guard James Daniels made it through practice without apparent incident. The man who started in Daniels’ place against the Houston Texans and Ravens earlier this month, Nate Herbig, was the only Steelers player limited at Wednesday’s practice because of injury. Herbig was listed as having a quad injury.
Punter Pressley Harvin III practiced fully for the first time since a hamstring injury prevented him from playing in the games against Houston and Baltimore. That was expected after the Steelers released his replacement, Brad Wing, last week.
