Steelers’ Chris Boswell named AFC special teams player of week, just as Mike Tomlin predicted

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin had his tongue firmly planted in cheek when he answered a question about Chris Boswell after Sunday’s win.
“I’m tired of him getting player of the week,” Tomlin said after Boswell accounted for all the points in a 18-16 victory against the Baltimore Ravens. “He probably got player of the week again this week.”
Three days later, Tomlin was proven a soothsayer.
Boswell was awarded the AFC’s special teams player of the week honor for Week 11 in the NFL. Boswell went 6 for 6 during Sunday’s game, including three makes of 50 or more yards.

It was the second time this season Boswell made six field goals and scored all of the Steelers’ points in a win. He also went 6 for 6 with three makes of 50-plus yards Sept. 8 at the Atlanta Falcons. That likewise earned Boswell the Week 1 AFC special-teams honor.
A 10-year veteran, Boswell also was named AFC special teams player of the week once each during the 2015 and 2017 seasons.
Boswell’s next honor? Could it be special teams player of the month? He already claimed that prize for September and October.
