Baker Mayfield on shaving handlebar mustache: 'I didn't deserve it'
Apparently the handlebar mustache is for winners only.
Baker Mayfield, quarterback for the lowly Cleveland Browns, isn’t one of them.
His words, not ours.
When asked by reporters Wednesday about the sudden crop of what had become a noticeable Hulk Hogan-esque handlebar mustache, Mayfield made no bones about why he lanced it.
“Well, the quarterbacks had a ‘Movember’ mustache,” he explained. “The original thought for me to do handlebars — I was undefeated before Sunday with the handle bar mustache. So I shaved it off, (because) I didn’t deserve it.”
Before Sunday’s loss to the Broncos, Mayfield had a beard. He said he shaved to the handlebar style just before the game. He shaved the bars off immediately following the loss.
Now he’s looking like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite.
