Coroner reveals Steeler Clark Haggans’ cause of death

Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Clark Haggans died from complications of chronic alcohol use, according to the Larimer County Coroner’s Office in Colorado.
Haggans, 46, died June 19 at a home in Fort Collins, Colo. He was a starting outside linebacker for the Steelers’ Super Bowl XL winning team in 2006.
Haggans played 107 games with the Steelers over eight seasons, making 61 starts and recording 32½ sacks. He often played opposite college teammate and fellow linebacker Joey Porter while wearing black and gold.
He retired in 2012 after stints with the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.
