District college football roundup: Ky'Ron Craggette powers Seton Hill past Edinboro

Ky’Ron Craggette ran for 208 yards and two touchdowns to lead Seton Hill to a 38-28 victory over Edinboro in PSAC football Saturday afternoon.

Jake Cruz threw for 175 yards and a touchdown to Mark Bails Jr., who had five receptions for 165 yards for the Griffins (4-5, 3-3). Isaac Bernard threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns for Edinboro (2-7, 1-5).

Cal (Pa.) 58, Mercyhurst 19 – Bobby Boyd Jr. ran for 213 yards and a touchdown as Cal (Pa.) (6-2, 5-1) overcame an early 13-point deficit to beat Mercyhurst (2-7, 1-5) in PSAC play. Davis Black threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns for the Vulcans while defensively, Matt Tobey had 10 tackles and returned an interception 34 yards for a TD. Adam Urena threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns — both to Joe Kerbacher — for Mercyhurst. Kerbacher had eight receptions for 116 yards.

Gannon 16, IUP 15 – Eric Scarpino kicked a 51-yard field goal as time expired to give Gannon (5-4, 5-1) a comeback PSAC win at IUP (4-5, 2-4). Scarpino earlier added field goals of 31 and 40 yards. Donny Marcus ran for 171 yards for Gannon, which trailed 15-6 heading into the fourth quarter. Dayjure Steward rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown for IUP.

Slippery Rock 42, Clarion 14 – Brayden Long threw for 363 yards and four touchdowns as No. 6 Slippery Rock (9-0, 6-0) amassed 510 yards of offense in a PSAC win over Clarion (2-7, 1-5). Kyle Sheets caught nine passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns for Slippery Rock while teammate Cohen Russell added six receptions for 135 yards. Anthony Guercio threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns for Clarion.

Division III

Allegheny 27, Thiel 3 – Jack Johnson threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns as Allegheny (3-6, 3-0) beat Thiel (2-6, 2-6) in PAC play. Nigel Williams had six tackles, a sack and a forced fumble for Allegheny, which allowed only a 6 for 26 passing performance for 23 yards for Thiel.

Geneva 43, Waynesburg 29 – Josh Syster ran for 98 yards and two touchdowns to lead Geneva (4-4, 4-4) to a PAC victory. David Reid added 41 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Geneva, which held a 308-116 advantage in rushing yards. Samuel Barber threw for 221 yards and three scores and Isaac Trout had 11 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns for Waynesburg (1-7, 1-7).

Grove City 56, Bethany 14 – Nico Flati ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns as Grove City (9-0, 9-0) downed Bethany (0-8, 0-8) in a PAC contest. Boden Davidson scored on a 28-yard interception for Grove City while teammate Ben Bladel returned a punt he blocked for a touchdown. Bladel added two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Washington & Jefferson 38, Case Western 33 – Jacob Pugh threw for 275 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions to lead Washington & Jefferson (6-2, 6-2) to a PAC win. Jacob Macosko had seven catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns, John Peduzzi had four grabs for 87 yards and a score, and Kobe Derosa returned a blocked punt for a touchdown for W&J. Alex Fromberg threw for 365 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions for Case Western (6-2, 2-2). Noah Coyne caught nine passes for 258 yards and three TDs.

Westminster 22, Saint Vincent 20 – In PAC play, Ryan Gomes ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns as Westminster (5-3, 5-3) jumped to a 22-0 lead and held on to defeat Saint Vincent (2-6, 2-6). Austin Slye threw for 232 yards and one touchdown for Saint Vincent.

Division I FCS

St. Francis 28, Merrimack 21 – Jayden Ivory caught a game-winning 71-yard touchdown pass from Noah Whitfield Jr. with 5:49 to go to lead St. Francis (Pa.) (3-5, 3-2) to a Northeast Conference win. Whitfield caught the tying score on a 2-yard reverse pass from Adrian Mejia with 9:56 to go. Tyvon Edmonds Jr. had 151 rushing yards and a touchdown for Merrimack (4-4, 3-2).
