Forced to practice sporadically since a game with Winthrop was canceled Dec. 4, Duquesne men’s basketball coach Keith Dambrot said Sunday he hopes to resume workouts Dec. 20.

The Dukes (1-1) haven’t played a game since defeating UNC-Greensboro on Dec. 2. Their trip to Indianapolis was canceled Saturday after a player and assistant tested positive for covid-19.

The team was scheduled to play Southern Illinois on Monday and Loyola-Chicago on Wednesday.

If Duquesne can’t practice this week, the first Atlantic 10 game, at Richmond next Saturday, will be rescheduled.

Dambrot will continue to seek other opponents before Duquesne’s next scheduled conference game Dec. 30 at Saint Louis.
