Duquesne receives verbal commitment from ex-Chicago State forward Jahsean Corbett
Duquesne coach Dru Joyce watched from the bench last season when Jahsean Corbett recorded a double-double for Chicago State against the Dukes.
So, when Corbett’s name appeared in the NCAA transfer portal after the season, Joyce pounced. Corbett responded, visited campus, and Thursday he made a verbal commitment to Duquesne on his Instagram account.
Corbett, a 6-foot-5 forward, scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against the Dukes on Jan. 31. He averaged 15.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game for the season.
Joyce has been busy this week, rebuilding the Dukes’ roster with transfers after he was named to replace retiring coach Keith Dambrot on March 28. Joyce received commitments from guards Cameron Crawford (Marshall) and Tre Dinkins (Canisius) on Wednesday.
