First Call: Odell Beckham Jr. jabs Myles Garrett over helmet swing; Watt brothers' 'Ultimate Tag' to debut

One of the scenes from Monday’s finale of the documentary depicted some exaggerated backside slapping between Dennis Rodman and Karl Malone during the 1998 NBA Finals.

Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Myles Garrett used that video to take a playful shot at teammate Odell Beckham Jr.

Remember when “OBJ” got in trouble for slapping the behind of a police officer? That happened in the victorious LSU locker room after the Tigers beat Clemson in the College Football National Championship Game in January.

Beckham was in there celebrating his alma mater’s big victory. And that act got him charged with battery. An arrest warrant was issued, but eventually recalled.

Upon seeing the Rodman-Malone video, Garrett used that opening to take his jab, tweeting “How @obj thought spanking the cop was gonna go.”

Funny. But not as good as Beckham’s response. “Wait a min!!!! That wasn’t even the worst part …. the worst part was I got charged wit assault….. and u somehow didn’t !!!”

Obviously Beckham was referring to Garrett bashing Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph with his own helmet.

I think that’s what’s called “ribbing on the square.” Right, Myles?

By the way, now that “The Last Dance” is over, you probably need something new to watch.

This isn’t exactly the same kind of programming, but it’s under the umbrella of sports and television.

Kinda.

The NFL’s Watt brothers are gearing up for the debut of the “Ultimate Tag” competition on Fox.

That’s right. Competitive “tag” on TV. It looks like American Ninja Warrior meets a scaled down American Gladiators.

Without the tennis ball cannons and fun pillow-polo sticks.

Steelers T.J. and Derek Watt will join their brother J.J. as hosts.

And it appears Derek is willing to make himself the comic relief element.
