With rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson missing a couple of weeks with an ankle injury that he suffered in practice a day earlier, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed wide receiver Tarik Black to ease his absence.

Black, 26, has appeared in one game in his brief NFL career, catching one pass for 10 yards with the New York Jets in 2021.

Black was on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad last year. He also was a member of the Indianapolis Colts in 2021.

Black played in college at Michigan from 2017-19 and Texas in 2020.

To make room for Black on the roster, the Steelers cut defensive tackle Jonathan Marshall, who spent all of last season on the team’s practice squad.
