Duquesne’s Tevin Brewer drives past George Mason’s Devin Dinkins in February 2023 at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

Two former Duquesne players are not finished playing basketball.

Guard Tevin Brewer, who spent the 2022-23 season with the men’s program, has signed a professional contract with Kipinä Äänekoski of the 1st Division A League in Finland. He’ll be joined overseas by former Duquesne forward Tre Williams, who signed with QSTA United out of the BNXT League in the Netherlands. Williams played the past three seasons for the Dukes, recording a scoring average of 10.8 points per game in 2021-22.

Brewer and Williams are the 13th and 14th players who played for former coach Keith Dambrot at Duquesne and signed a professional contract.

Brewer, a transfer from FIU, started 26 games during the ‘22-23 season, averaging 7.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists. While converting 40.7% (81 of 199) of his field goal attempts, including 44% (44 of 100) from beyond the 3-point arc, he helped the Dukes improve from a 6-24 record the previous season to 20-13. His season-high 17 points against George Mason led to a 75-52 victory, which was No. 500 in Dambrot’s career.

He led the Atlantic 10 in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.82) and 3-point field goal percentage.
