Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jean-Sebastien Dea has signed a contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season with Eisbaren Berlin of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, Germany’s top league.

That team announced the transaction via a release on Wednesday.

A native of Laval, Quebec, the 31-year-old Dea began the season with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk of Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League but recently had his contract with that club terminated. He spent the previous three seasons playing for various KHL teams.

Dea, a right-handed shot, spent parts of three seasons with the Penguins in the late 2010s. In nine NHL games with the Penguins, he scored two goals.

In addition to the Penguins, Dea has played for the Arizona Coyotes, Buffalo Sabres and New Jersey Devils.

Former Penguins forward Peter Lee serves as vice chairman of Eisbaren Berlin.
