Penn State great Trace McSorley is back with the Nittany Lions’ football program.

News about a possible PSU-McSorley reunion first surfaced over the weekend, via Onward State and The Daily Collegian, and the former Lions starting quarterback is officially listed as a football offensive assistant in the Penn State directory. On Penn State’s social media account, McSorley is listed as assistant quarterbacks coach.

McSorley, a member of James Franklin’s 2014 recruiting class, was a three-year starter (2016-18) and a leader on Penn State’s 2016 Big Ten championship team. The dual-threat quarterback finished his PSU career with 9,899 passing yard and 77 touchdown passes.

McSorley was a sixth-round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2019. He spent time with Baltimore in 2019 and 2020 and with Arizona in 2021 and 2022.
