Former Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Cole Tucker has a new position to play: husband.

The Pirates’ first-round draft pick in 2014 married “High School Musical” actress Vanessa Hudgens over the weekend, according to several media reports.

People Magazine broke the story, reporting the couple married on Saturday in Tulum, Mexico. TMZ and Us Weekly also confirmed the report.

Tucker and Hudgens met in 2020 … on the internet.

“It’s the ultimate modern day love story,” Hudgens told NBC’s “Today with Hoda & Jenna” in 2021. “It’s ridiculous. We met over Zoom on a meditation group. Like who are we, the most new-age couple ever.”

Rumors about the two dating popped up in November 2020. After going “Instagram official” on Valentine’s Day in 2021, the couple got engaged at the end of 2022.

“We had definitely talked about it, but I did not expect it to happen the way that it happened and the moment that it happened,” Hudgens told People in March. “It definitely caught me off guard and I was bawling my eyes out.”

In the past, Hudgens had been spotted cheering on Tucker at Pirates games in spring training and Wrigley Field in Chicago.

The Pirates designated Tucker for assignment in May 2022, and he was picked up by the Arizona Diamondbacks’ organization for the rest of the season. He spent the 2023 season in the Colorado Rockies’ system, with two stints in the majors, before electing free agency in October.
