The Indiana University of Pennsylvania women’s basketball team holds steady at No. 5 in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll released Tuesday afternoon.

The Crimson Hawks, who own the longest win streak in program history and a 20-1 overall record, are ranked in the top 10 for the fifth week in a row.

IUP, with seven players on the roster from WPIAL schools, set the program record for consecutive wins with their 17th in a row in an 81-55 victory over Seton Hill last Wednesday. It added to the streak with a 73-59 win at Mercyhurst, which raised its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference record to 15-0.

There were no changes in the top five from last week, with No. 1 Drury (21-0) leading the way, followed by No. 2 Ashland (21-0), No. 3 Grand Valley State (20-1), and No. 4 Texas A&M-Commerce (21-0).

IUP has spent 47 straight weeks in the top 25, including 35 in the top 10. The Crimson Hawks also are No. 7 for the second straight week in the D2SIDA Media Top 25.

IUP is back in action at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at home against Slippery Rock (5-16, 3-12 PSAC).
